The researches began in 1997 and resumed in 2003 on the occasion of the vertical systematization works conducted in the church yard. We conducted a survey in the yard with the purpose of revealing the foundations and other archaeological finds situated under the actual walking level. On the east and the north sides of the yard we uncovered a precinct wall, probably contemporaneous with the church. In the south part we found a building, probably some kind of a dwelling which was destroyed by the contemporaneous works. The archaeologists found also a large number of sherds in a pit from an earlier period (the 18th century - the beginning of the 19th century) than the one when the church was built. The team proposed to conserve the north side of the precinct wall.
