AIAC_85 - Interporto - 2003This settlement lies on a sandy peninsula along the SE shore of the ancient lake of Maccarese. Two big structured hearths, the base of two clay ovens, many fragmented stoves and a storage pit have been discovered so far. A marked slope shows the settlement limits towards the lake: this area is particularly rich in sherds, faunal and botanical remains (grains and charcoals). A small bronze ingot, a glass paste bead and bone tools are also present. On the basis of the formal characteristics of pottery the site may be referred to the second half of XI mill. B.C. (Cecilia Conati Barbaro) - it Sito di abitato posto sulla riva sud-orientale dell'antico lago di Maccarese venuto alla luce nel corso delle indagini avviate in occasione della realizzazione dell'Interporto Roma-Fiumicino. In base alle preliminari osservazioni geologiche si ipotizza che il sito fosse collocato su una penisola sabbiosa. Allo stato attuale delle ricerche sono stati individuati due grandi focolari, la parte basale di due forni in argilla, numerosi frammenti di fornelli e un pozzetto, forse adibito all'immagazzinamento di derrate alimentari. Il limite dell'insediamento verso il lago è indicato da una decisa pendenza della paleosuperficie: in quest'area è stato individuato un considerevole accumulo di materiali ceramici di grandi dimensioni, abbondanti resti faunistici e botanici (semi, carboni). Sono stati inoltre rinvenuti un piccolo pane di bronzo, una perlina in pasta vitrea e alcuni strumenti in osso. In base alle caratteristiche formali della ceramica il sito è collocabile nella seconda metà dell'XI sec. a.C.
