During 2010 the 3D mapping of the individual footprints and dinosaur tracks continued, together with work on the project to render the site open to visitors. Diverse ichno-species were identified and a three-dimensional printer will be used to create life-size images. The small surface presents footprints of carnivorous dinosaurs between 10 and 47 cm in length organized in tens of pathways, and thousands of herbivorous dinosaur footprints on a densely trampled paleo-surface.

In 2010 there was much useful collaboration however, the work for the museum project planned during 2009 could not go ahead due to opposition from the landowner. Fund-raising is underway together with a campaign to gain public support so that the local administration can buy the land and thus protect the area.

To date two-thirds of the footprints in the quarry have been digitised at high resolution and it is thought that a further two years will be necessary for the completion of the task. The slowness of this operation is due to the fact that in the absence of prtotection from the weather, each footprint is cleaned, restored, documented and back-filled, entirely by researchers and student volunteers from the Geology Department at Bari University.

It is hoped that in the coming months the construction of a cover will go ahead and it will be possible to create a geo-site that is open to visitors.
