Summary (English)
ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXPLORATIONS NEAR THE VILLAGE OF ZLATAR (Stela Doncheva – donchevastela@yahoo.com, Tihomir Tihov) The explorations continued in the area situated between Workshop 1 and Complex V. The finds included bronze belt appliqués, iron tools, lead casting models, metal melts and fragmentary plaster from the kiln in Workshop 1 discovered in 2007. A trench 5.20 long was discovered with a pit 50 cm deep, containing burned sherds, animal bones, sherds from ceramic melting pots and three intact melting pots, a lead bar and bronze melts. Six kilns, one of them a pottery kiln, were documented on both sides of the trench. Workshop 1 apparently belonged to Complex V. A follis of Constantine VII Porphyrogennetos and Romanos II minted in Constantinople was found during the excavations. The metallurgical center dated to the first half of the 10th century AD.
