Summary (English)
HOTALICH FORTRESS (Nadezhda Boteva – nadejda_boteva@abv.bg) Eight burials of the 13th century were explored in the cemetery around Church No. 3. Wooden coffins were documented. A woman, 25 – 26 years old and 1.55 m in height, was buried in Grave No. 51. A bronze bracelet was found on her left arm and two bronze bracelets on her right arm. In addition, two silver earrings, a necklace of 3500 blue, green and black beads and a spherical button were discovered in the grave. The anthropological analysis of the individual buried in Grave No. 49 showed that there were Schmorl’s nodes on the thoracic and lumbar vertebrae and also, a persistent metopic suture was identified on the skull. A wall 35 m long was identified, 50 – 60 cm wide and built of stones bonded with mud. It was an extension of the walls that surrounded the southern side of the suburb.
