Summary (English)
AQUAE CALIDAE – THERMA (Dimcho Momchilov – karnobat.muzey@mail.bg, Miroslav Klasnakov, Yavor Rusev) A water-conduit was documented in the stratum of the 4th century AD, over 12 m long and situated beneath a later building of the 11th – 12th centuries and a fortification wall of the 7th – 8th centuries AD. A drain of the 4th century AD was discovered, 1 – 1.10 m wide and c. 50 cm deep. A second drain of the 4th century AD was excavated, paved with bricks and 27 cm wide, cut by the later fortification wall. Parts of a street and a Late Antique building were explored, cut by the fortification wall. The second main stratum of the 6th century AD contained shreds, coins and iron slag. All strata and structures of the 4th – 6th centuries AD were cut by the fortification wall of the 7th – 8th centuries AD, 2.50 m wide and preserved up to 3.50 m in height. The Mediaeval stratum contained finds of the 11th – 13th centuries. A wall of a building of the 11th century was documented, 1.40 – 1.50 m wide.
