Summary (English)
ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXPLORATIONS NEAR THE VILLAGE OF BANYA (Bogdan Athanassov – bo.atana@nbu.bg, Iliya Kulov, Zhivko Uzunov) The explorations of the building from Phase 1 in Trenches H58 and I58 were completed. A layer with burned fragmentary wattle-and-daub, 20 – 40 cm thick, was discovered. Some fragments had imprints from wooden posts, up to 15 cm in diameter. The finds from the building included bone tools, pieces from antlers, processed boar tusks, including a plate of a tusk with holes (most probably a plate from a helmet of the Aegean Type), sherds, spindle whorls and carbonized grain. The building was a house where craft activities related to bone processing were carried out. It was built at the end of Phase 1, probably during the 12th century BC. A wall supporting a terrace, probably of Phase 1, was explored in Trench H56. The explorations of the apsed building of Phase 2 in Trenches К58, L58 and L59 were completed. Fragments from burned wattle-and-daub were found, some of them with imprints from wooden posts.
