Investigations have continued on the cult site, discovered in 2001, dating to between the late Bronze Age and the late Iron Age. In the northeastern sector of the site, the porphyritic rock shows signs of exposure to heat. From this rock a grey, morainic layer extends towards the SW, above which is a levelling deposit made up of fist-sized stones (mainly porphyry). This, in turn, is covered by a layer of pottery sherds and burnt, heavily fragmented bones. This layer contained artefacts in bronze, iron and glass. The bronze artefacts included fragments of pins, brooches, rings, spiral armlets and plait holders, knives, vessels, rivets, extremely small rings and chain links. There were also beads and small rings of varying sizes made of glass. The iron objects, fewer in number, were mainly square-sectioned awls, but also present were a small knife blade with a tang and bent spine, various knife fragments, large pins and rivets. It is unclear whether these finds should be interpreted as votive offerings or as objects contained within a burnt earth fill, relating to incineration burials. Such a burial, uncovered in 2001, is at present the only closed tomb on this cult site. Amongst its very jumbled skeletal remains, of Bronze and Iron Age date, were flint artefacts such as micro-engravers (burins), blades, lamellae and flakes, probably dating to the Mesolithic period.
