Summary (English)
ODESSOS (Hristo Kuzov – h.kouzov@abv.bg, Vladimir Slavchev) A stratum of the ottoman period was documented. A Late Antique stratum was discovered beneath. A floor of a building of the 6th century AD was explored, constructed over a mortar plaster 15 – 20 cm thick. Traces from fire were documented on the floor. The building was situated outside of the fortification wall of Odessos, close to the harbor, and probably was a warehouse or a shop. Sherds of the end of the 5th – beginning of the 7th centuries AD were found, predominantly from amphorae and also from imported red-gloss pottery. The amphorae were imported from North Africa and the Eastern Mediterranean, including amphorae of the LRA1–4 Types and the Gaza Type.
