Summary (English)
ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXPLORATIONS NEAR THE VILLAGE OF ANGEL VOIVODA (Zdravko Dimitrov – zdravkodimitrov74@gmail.com) The excavations continued in the eastern part of the Late Antique fortress, close to the so-called rock-cut tomb on the top of the hill and near the Early Christian church discovered in 2016. The northern fortification wall was discovered, preserved up to 2 m in height. A second Early Christian single-apsed and single-naved church was discovered, built in rubble masonry. Remains from buildings with collapsed roofs were excavated. Judging from the pottery and the coins, the fortress and the buildings dated to the second half of the 5th – 6th centuries AD. A few Thracian sherds of the Late Bronze and the Early Iron Ages were found as well.
