Excavations were undertaken in the bay of Ieranto, near the Punta della Campanella or Capo Ateneo, with the collaboration of Prof. F. Roncalli of the “Federico II” University of Naples. This was part of the project for FAI’s compendium of architectural and environmental recovery. The trenches dug so far have only revealed two lime kilns, perhaps late medieval in date and a structure that was probably a cistern, of the same date.
