Summary (English)
In 2001 the remains of the outer facing of the second Messapian curtain wall was found in front of the dry-stone wall marking the southern perimeter of the Russo property. The removal of a short section of this wall rendered it possible to open a trench. This revealed a make up resting on the rocky outcrops and sterile clay soil and the internal facing of the curtain wall with related collapse to the south, in Fondo Paparusso. The wall seems to date to around 300 B.C.
